About
A dollar account shouldn’t be the hard part.
Across Nigeria and the wider continent, people do work that the rest of the world pays for — design, engineering, writing, editing, support, content. Getting hired is no longer the obstacle. Getting paid is.
The usual routes all leak. Platforms hold funds and charge to release them. Intermediary banks take a cut on the way through and add days to the trip. Peer-to-peer swaps work until the day they do not. What most people actually need is unglamorous: an account in their own name that a foreign payer recognises, and a clean way to move the money home.
That is what Frenz Pay is being built to be. Not a wallet, and not a workaround — an account you can hand to a client, an employer or a platform, and a payout to your own bank at a rate you can see before you agree to it.
It is not open yet. No account has been issued and no money has moved through it. We would rather say that plainly than dress up a waiting list as a bank.
How we’re going about it
Say where we actually are
This site used to describe a product that did not exist — accounts, settlement times, app downloads. We took all of it down. Nothing here describes something we cannot do.
Build on regulated rails
Receiving dollars means working with licensed partners and running real identity checks. That is slower to build than a wallet, and it is the part that matters.
Price it in the open
When there is a fee, it will be written down in plain numbers before you send anything, not discovered afterwards in a bad rate.
Want to know when it opens?
